Egle Petrosiute – jazz&world music vocalist whose face and voice is getting more and more familiar among the lovers of improvised music in the Netherlands and Lithuania, where she is from. Having an elegant and warm tone uncommonly mature for her age Egle is also a passionate improviser, who is getting a lot of inspiration from horn players and demonstrating great melodic ideas as well as amicable and energetic personality on stage in both jazz and world music settings. She was fortunate to study with the Dutch jazz greats such as Jarmo Hoogendijk, Joris Roelofs, Martijn van Iterson, Lydia van Dam to name a few and soon started developing her own taste and approach to music. She started her career performing in various jazz settings. During those years she also met and played with some amazing Brazilian musicians who taught and encouraged her to sing Brazilian music too, as it fits to her voice and colorful character. Along the way she had met a great Brazilian bassist Matheus Nicolaiewsky, who had the idea of Samba Da Minha Terra band and invited her to be its singer. Currently, Egle is still based in the Netherlands, actively working on both, this band and her jazz performances.
