Djamen is a Brazilian guitarist and composer from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, south of Brazil, currently living in Ireland. He has graduated in music and his first experience with music was at the age of 6. His first instrument was the drum set, lately he started on the guitar. His first chords were tought by his father, an important Brazilian musician called Marco Farias. His father is one of the pioneers of a Brazilian rhythm called " samba-rock", worldwide known by Jorge Ben, Sergio Mendes with the song "Mas Que Nada". Djâmen is mostly influenced by black music. His music is based in searching the roots of many places, cultures from all over the world, mixing and creating his own language, between old and new rhythms. His music travels inside many Brazilian rhythms such as Maracatú, Samba, Ijexá, Choro, Jongo, Baiao, Candomblé among others. With an unique way of playing, Djâmen has the latin swing and the sophisticate harmony of Jazz. In his career he performed in more than 8 countries and well known jazz festivals as Montreux Jazz Festival, Summer Festival (Latvia), Bray Jazz Festival (Ireland), etc. During his graduation he joined in Expresso 25, one of the most important (references) vocal groups in Brazil and he got the chance to explore his voice and the songs of the body. Djâmen's music is not a type of music you can define, it ś got influence from many different styles, without limits. This is a way of evolution of the soul and bring people peace in their heart. This way of thinking is based on Buddhism philosophy.
